First Day of School

Eden's first day of preschool
Jake's first day of kindergarten
Avery's first day of 2nd grade

Labor Day

We spent Labor Day at the lake with Eric's cousins. It was a great way to spend the unofficial last day of summer. Jake loves helping Eric drive the boat.
I rode on the tube with all of the kids. Eden and Wyatt had a blast, but Avery and Jake were glad to get back on the boat. Usually it's Avery and Jake that love the tube and Eden that's terrified to even get on the boat! It was a fun ride anyway.
Jake and Eden enjoying the sun on the boat.
Eden playing on the beach.
Yes, that would be me attempting to wake board.

Summer of Birthdays

Like I said, I'm WAY behind on posting due to the death of my hard drive. So, I will compact all of our birthday celebrations from the summer into one post.

We started the summer by celebrating Avery's 7th, Eric's 29th (at least that's what he tells the kids) & Eden's 3rd birthdays in May.

We rounded out the summer by celebrating my birthday and Wyatt's 1st birthday. I requested everyone have silly hair for my special birthday treat and Wyatt had no hesitation diving into his first birthday treat.

Proud Parenting Moment

I walk into the family room just in time to catch Eden drawing on Wyatt's arm with a purple pen. I had to repress my urge to yell. She had just begun to mark up her little brother only after inking herself up rather well. One hand and wrist was pretty well colored along with both shoulders (how did she know that's the proper place for a tattoo?). Anyway, I took the pen and told her that if she thought it was okay to draw on herself and her brother, then Mommy gets to do it, too. So, I held her down while she was screaming "No" and drew a lovely curly mustache and little beard. She was trying to squirm away saying, "I'm going to wash it off!" Of course, I took her to show Daddy first & and he needed a picture. So, here is the picture of her screaming while I'm trying to hold her hands down. Okay, so it may not be my proudest parenting moment, but I doubt she'll write on her brother anytime soon.

Dairy Trip

I have missed SO many entries, because my computer began to slowly die and I could no longer transfer pictures to my computer. It finally bit the dust, so now I have a "new" hard drive, so I will try to catch up a little.

So, before summer, we went to the dairy farm for Jake's preschool field trip. I have been to this dairy about 5 times, but we had a "first" this visit. After the tour of seeing all of the bigger cows, we have the chance to go into the milking barn to show the kids how the cows are milked. This is high tech, so there is no stool and pail. Oh no, we are talking about 12 cows backed in to these raised stalls (this position will come into play soon) and then they are hooked up to the milking machine. The kids can see the cows up close, feel the milk, see the huge tank it goes into & all sorts of stuff. So, when you walk in the door to the milking area, you are in this small rectangle galley with cow tail swinging slightly over your head. We are warned before that we may get pooped on, so to not scream and just step aside. Ummm, yeah...did I mention we had 3 and 4 year old children with their moms? We are bringing up the rear of the group & as Eden goes through the door, she gets hammered by poo. If the nice lady taking us on the tour had not scooped her up, she would have been completely covered! I don't know what made her scream louder, the cow unloading on her or the stranger grabbing her, but I tried to grab her to take her out before we caused a stampede. I cleaned her up the best I could with baby wipes and cleaned the little bit off the rest of us, too. Whenever you ask her about the dairy, she will tell you, "A cow pooped on me." And yet, she is still smiling with her "I love milk" sticker!

Lock 'em up

I have SO many pictures I haven't posted, but I had to put this one up. Angela and Brynne found this onesie and had to buy it for Wyatt. He has got to be the cutest baby boy in all the land!
